The Vital Need For A Men's Recovery Home in LA:

Stigma: Men face stigma in society while struggling with chronic and acute substance addiction, which can lead to feelings of shame or embarrassment, hindering and delaying their willingness to seek help.

Mental Health Challenges: Co-occurring mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety are common among men with chronic and acute substance addiction, and men have been socialized to suppress emotions making it difficult to fully engage in a sober collaborative living environment. This is greatly helped by being in an incubating peer mentoring environment where the common bond is brothers in recovery supporting and mentoring them in the first year showing them it is possible from their own lived experience.

Family and Relationship Responsibilities and Stressors: Men often have family and relationship responsibilities that make a long-term commitment to a recovery process challenging, and strains on those relationships as their substance addiction progresses to the chronic and acute stage erodes support systems.  Our year+ recovery home process for men helps them rebuild their lives from the ground up, building bridges back to family and other relationships.

Accessibility To Long-Term Solutions: There is a drastic lack of availability and funding of beds in LA for drug free recovery homes that can provide year+ commitments to men seeking sustainable recovery with no financial barriers to entry.
