LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (March 23, 2021) — This week, Awakening Recovery, the LA based nonprofit that specializes in unique life-saving recovery homes announced its recovery home for men will now be called The Daly House. Located just south of Beverly Hills, the home was recently donated by the Daly Family. Awakening Recovery has been leasing the home from the family since they opened in July 2016 with the option to buy, but now with this generous donation from the Daly Family, Awakening Recovery owns the house.

In addition to this generous donation, the Daly Family made a $1M pledge at the end of 2020, where they will donate $200,000 a year for five years, to help support Awakening Recovery’s life saving efforts. Awakening Recovery has been in operation since July 2016 with their first men’s recovery house – they now have 27 graduates with a 80-90% success rate and have helped over 100 men to date. Later this year they plan to open another house in the LA metro area for women.

“The Daly Family’s donation of this house and their future donations will help further our mission of providing innovative, long-term, and ultimately, life-saving solutions for men suffering from addiction,” said David van der Velde, Executive Director of Awakening Recovery. “To commemorate their strong support, we couldn’t be prouder to name our men’s home after their family which will leave a lasting, lifelong impression on the future men who live and recover at The Daly House.”

“Having supported Awakening Recovery since its inception, we’ve been overwhelmed with the recovery processes, successes, and testimonials from the graduates,” said Robert A. Daly, Jr., Founding Board President of Awakening Recovery. “Our family wanted to support Awakening Recovery in a large way, and it is our hope that we can help even more men in the coming years as we look forward to this continued partnership.”

Robert A. Daly, Jr. is a supporter of the nonprofit as well as the Founding Board President – and is the son of Robert A. Daly, Sr., the former Chairman of Warner Brothers, and owner of the Dodgers. He was the previous Board Chair of Save The Children, and is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Film Institute. Daly Sr. is also a supporter of the nonprofit along with his wife, Carole Bayer Sager.
