Lindsay P. Horvath awarded Awakening Recovery a Certificate from the County of Los Angeles to recognize the positive work that the recovery home has done in the community.

The District 3 L.A. County Supervisor said, “Awakening Recovery’s structured, peer-mentoring based recovery home was created to provide a safe and effective environment for people to build the foundation of a fulfilling and productive life. At Awakening Recovery, residents are able to pursue recovery oriented goals through a year-plus social model recovery process, where they begin repairing relationships, getting a job, and positively impacting others as peer mentors. Those who have graduated from Awakening Recovery stay integrated with a substantial sober support community and participate in their own and others’ recovery.”

The award was presented to David Van Der Velde, the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Awakening Recovery, who thanked Lindsey Horvath for the recognition and added, “We are proud to partner with you and we are eager to work more with you to deliver positive outcomes in Los Angeles. Through our long-term recovery home process, our alumni staff and residents provide peer mentoring that includes learning behavioral tools, family house meetings, daily and weekly activities, and actively participating in a 12-step process. We strive every day to provide a safe place to save lives.”
